Found this video yesterday, which suggests that pretty much all grades of card cap out at 90MB/s read speed due to the SD reader on the Deck.. Write speeds, however, do vary greatly, with a Sandisk Ultra U1 card (for example) averaging at 30MB/s, and the SanDisk Extreme U3 card reaching 77.5MB/s.

I have a 400gb SanDisk Ultra (bought from Amazon) that I tested on a PC prior with h2testw (shoot, that took 8hrs to validate/fill the card with data). I don't remember it taking that long to format on the Steam Deck though. I think it was fairly quick to format it to the ext4.
I bought the 512gb because I didn't want to mess with opening mine up and screw something up putting in a bigger SSD. That and I like knowing I can have 1.5TB of storage if I buy a 1tb micro SD card. I purchased the 64gb one. Brought a 256 ssd for £23. Shall upgrade once it comes, seems like a killer deal to me..
